The Crossroads District and the Thrive Initiative have teamed up to provide a simple and practical way to bless you and your family. We have designed a straight-forward initiative to help you rest well and get paid. Check out the process below to discover how you can receive $475 towards a two-night retreat and how you can also receive an additional $500 - $1,000 matching grant check. Be sure to take time to read the Process, the Local Church Investment Opportunity, and the FAQs below This opportunity is only available to the first 100 Crossroads Senior or Solo Pastors that sign up. ThE Process


​Watch the short video series titled "A Rest that Works" produced by the organization Run Hard. Rest Well. Each video is about 4-6 mins, and the whole series can be completed in around 45 mins.

​Plan a two-night retreat for you and your spouse using the $475 that Crossroads will be giving you as an intentional investment in your well-being. To receive these funds, you must have completed all of step one and have completed the Retreat Planning Guide (2.A) which you can CLICK HERE to find. Once you have completed step one and the Retreat Planning Guide, you will be issued the $475. After your retreat, we require that you complete a simple reflection (2.B) which you can CLICK HERE to find.    


​Watch the 4-part video series developed by Dave Ramsey and Craig Groeschel known as "Money Matters" CLICK HERE to find the video series. Once you have watched all four videos, you will need to CLICK HERE to submit a brief action plan related to the teachings in the videos. The Final Step will be to complete a very brief survey of your experience with RWI. This will help us to continue to serve you to the best of our ability in the years to come. The Matching Grant CHECK

Once you have completed all three steps in their entirety, you will be eligible to receive a $500 matching grant check. The issuing of that check will be triggered by your completion of the three steps and the Rest Well Initiative Final Reflection, which you can CLICK HERE to find.        

Local Church Investment opportunity 

How can Your Church Help?

The Local Church does not have to invest any money into the pastor for the initiative explained above to be possible; yet, we strongly encourage all church lay leaders to take a special interest in this initiative and consider investing additional funds in their pastor. Each dollar that the local church invests in their pastor through the Rest Well initiative will be match by the Thrive Initiative, up to $500. The matching dollars from Thrive will be added to the $500 matching check that the pastor will receive by completing the Rest Well Initiative. If the church invests in their participating pastor, the pastor's matching grant check can reach up to $1,000. 

How does Our Church Invest?

The Local Church can invest in their pastor by completing one or multiple of the following options.
  • Give the pastor additional money for their retreat
  • Donate additional funds to the pastor's pension fund
  • Purchase the pastor a smart device such as an Apple Watch SE or a Fitbit Sense, so that they can track their health. 
  • Provide the pastor with funds to help pay off student debt 
  • Pay for the pastor to receive additional ministry training or ministry resources. Such as: being trained as a licensed coach, receiving personal or couples counseling, purchasing ministry resources, etc.

Once a church has invested in their pastor, the church treasurer must complete the Pastoral Investment Report, which you can CLICK HERE to find. Church matching funds cannot be issued without this report being completed.  

Frequently Asked Questions

How many Pastors can participate?

The first 100 Crossroads Senior or Solo Pastors to sign up,  will be able to participate. Staff pastors will be able to participate starting February 1, 2021. If you are not able to make it in the first 100 you will be placed on a waiting list. After February 28, 2021, pastors who signed up but have not engaged with the process through at least the completion of the Retreat Planning Guide (Step 2.A) will surrender their registration to the first person on the waiting list. Please note, your retreat does not need to have occurred by February  28, 2021, you simply must have engaged with the process through the completion of the Retreat Planning Guide (Step 2.A) Your retreat can take place any time before April 30, 2021. 

Who is this opportunity for?

This opportunity is for any appointed pastor in the Crossroads District of The Wesleyan Church. We do ask that staff pastors discuss this opportunity with their lead pastor before they sign up. To provide an equal opportunity for all pastors, we will be limiting this opportunity to lead and solo pastors until after February 1, 2021. At that time, staff pastors will be able to register for the initiative on a first come first served basis.

When is the due date?

Step 2.A must be completed by March 19th, 2021, or you will surrender your registration to the next person in line, if applicable. All remaining steps of the initiative must be completed by April, 30th, 2021.  

Can i take my Kids on the Retreat?

While we know that finding childcare can be difficult, we strongly encourage that you use a portion of the $475 to cover two nights of childcare. 

When will i receive the $475 for my Retreat?

The $475 check for your two-night retreat will be issued within seven business days following the completion of the Retreat Planning Guide (2.A). Most checks will successfully traverse the postal service within one week.  be sure to remember that step one of the process must also be completed for the check to be issued. Please note, holiday business hours may effect the time frame in which you receive your Retreat Check.     

How will i receive my $475 Check? 

Retreat checks will be mailed to the Church of your appointment for them to process through payroll and give to you as an effective "bonus" 

When will i receive my Matching check?

Matching grant checks will be distributed at District Conference 2021.

Does my retreat have to be somewhere specific?

No. Your retreat can be anywhere that you and your spouse will be able to truly unplug and find rest. However, if you need ideas, we have included some suggestions below.
